Code Of Conduct

Log Cabin Republicans Code Of Conduct

1. You accept the terms laid out in your chapter’s bylaws and recognize the chapter’s board of directors, LCR National staff, and LCR National Board of Directors as the authorities / governing bodies of your chapter.

2. Many events include the serving of alcoholic beverages. You must drink responsibly and be of legal age. Any intoxication that involves disruption, inappropriate behavior or physical harm may result in disciplinary action from the chapter’s board, including but not limited to a verbal warning, suspension, or expulsion from the chapter.

3. There is no tolerance for harassment or unruly and inappropriate behavior toward chapter members, the chapter’s board, LCR National staff, elected officials, or special guests. You must conduct yourself professionally at LCR events or when representing LCR at any other event or social setting. Violations of this section may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to a verbal warning, suspension, or expulsion from the chapter.

4. We accept different opinions on political and social issues. We expect that you conduct yourself with civility and professionalism in any discussion and Q&A with a guest speaker or amongst chapter members at an official LCR event or when representing LCR at any other event or public setting. Any disrespectful or unruly behavior will result in possible disciplinary action, including but not limited to a verbal warning, suspension, or expulsion from the chapter.

5. LCR supports endorsed Republican candidates running for office or currently in office. If you are representing LCR in a social/public setting at an event or on social media, we do not disparage or criticize fellow Republicans or any other candidate/elected official that LCR has endorsed. You are free to post your own opinions when not officially representing the organization, in traditional media, or on your personal social media accounts.
